Position Summary
The Tool Crib Technician supports CNC machining operations by preparing, measuring, maintaining, and managing cutting tools and tooling systems required for production. This role is critical to machine uptime, accuracy, and overall manufacturing efficiency and reports directly to the Tool Crib Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of CNC machining or manufacturing experience
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English
- Positive, solutions-oriented “can-do” attitude
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with manufacturing-based technology, processes, and principles
- 3+ years of CNC machining and tool build-up experience
- Knowledge of pre-setters and heat shrink equipment
- Extensive knowledge of tooling, tool holders, and cutting tools for CNC equipment
- Skilled Trade certification from an accredited college, community college, or vocational school
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and expectations outlined in the Employee Manual and Quality Management System
- Demonstrate and promote Manes Machine’s Core Values at all times
- Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant work environment
- Maintain confidentiality on all classified company information
- Set up CNC machine tooling according to setup documentation without supervision
- Change cutting tools and holders correctly and efficiently
- Measure and document tooling attributes including radius, diameter, flute count, flute length, gauge length, relief length, and clearance length
- Ensure all tooling is properly checked in and out using the SupplyPro inventory system
- Load tooling into the correct CNC machine, magazine pot, and rotation
- Remove and replace tooling correctly when required
- Maintain tooling holders in clean, serviceable condition
- Keep tooling crib equipment clean, organized, and properly maintained
- Maintain tooling inventory to support CNC machining operations
- Utilize JobBOSS ERP and other required software tools (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Communicate clearly and effectively with machinists, supervisors, and support staff
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and adaptability to change
- Accept feedback constructively and perform effectively under pressure
- Take initiative and willingly assume additional responsibilities as needed

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a plant environment to include moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and explosives. Safety Glasses must be worn in all required areas. Safety Toe (Steel or Kevlar) shoes or boots must be worn at all times, while working in the manufacturing areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. However, ear protection is provided if needed.
