Position Summary

Responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing production equipment and facilities systems. This role focuses on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic troubleshooting of machine tools, while continuing technical development under the Maintenance Supervisor and Level III Technicians.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of machine maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical/electronic machine tool repair or equivalent.
  • Strong working knowledge of CNC and NC equipment, grinders, mills, lathes, drills, and related systems.
  • Working knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and industrial power specifications.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English
  • Positive, solutions-oriented “can-do” attitude

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of machine maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical/electronic machine tool repair or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with relay logic, ladder logic, computer systems, servo drives, and motor controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and overhaul precision machine tools to ensure safe, accurate operation, including CNC machines, lathes, mills, drills, grinders, coolant recycle systems, and scrap handling equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures; restore equipment to serviceable condition.
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, and verbal instructions.
  • Disassemble, modify, repair, and replace components as required; order replacement parts and coordinate external repairs.
  • Utilize shop and diagnostic equipment including hand and power tools, hoists, forklifts, multimeters, amp/volt/ohm meters, ball bars, and calibration lasers.
  • Coordinate with OEM and factory service representatives to troubleshoot issues and expedite complex repairs.
  • Perform facilities maintenance as needed, including lighting, HVAC, restrooms, sprinkler systems, and general building upkeep.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; follow all safety procedures to protect personnel, equipment, and property.
  • Maintain high personal productivity; assist with training and mentoring other maintenance personnel as assigned.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a plant environment to include moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and explosives. Safety Glasses must be worn in all required areas. Safety Toe (Steel or Kevlar) shoes or boots must be worn at all times, while working in the manufacturing areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. However, ear protection is provided if needed.
