Position Summary

The CNC Programmer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs and associated documentation to support efficient, high-quality aerospace manufacturing. This role works closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to ensure manufacturability, reduce cycle times, and drive continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years CNC machining experience with titanium, aluminum, stainless, or aerospace alloys
  • Strong understanding of G & M code
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes and design techniques
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Solid understanding of tooling, machine setup, and machining principles
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Positive, solutions-oriented “can-do” attitude

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical certification in CNC Programming or related field
  • 3+ years of CAM experience (Siemens NX preferred) in aerospace manufacturing
  • 3+ years experience with 5-axis CNC machining
  • Experience developing complete manufacturing processes (fixture design through production)
  • Advanced knowledge of G & M code
  • Experience with Vericut or similar simulation software
  • Strong time management and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and cross-functionally

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, verify, and maintain CNC programs using CAD/CAM software
  • Design and program fixtures to support efficient production
  • Maintain control of CNC programs and revision levels on internal servers
  • Apply GD&T principles in programming and process development
  • Generate probing cycles as needed without reliance on automated probing software
  • Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, process, or equipment
  • Collaborate with shop floor personnel to improve manufacturability and efficiency
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost, scrap, and cycle time
  • Work with Quality to investigate nonconformances and implement corrective actions
  • Assist with internal audits and compliance to AS9100 quality standards
  • Support Engineering and Production with process planning and optimization
  • Contribute to KPI tracking and performance reporting
  • Participate actively in team meetings and cross-functional collaboration
  • Maintain proficiency in required systems (NX, CATIA, Vericut, JobBOSS, Unipoint, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety standards, and QMS requirements
  • Support other departments and perform additional duties as assigned

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a plant environment to include moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and explosives. Safety Glasses must be worn in all required areas. Safety Toe (Steel or Kevlar) shoes or boots must be worn at all times, while working in the manufacturing areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. However, ear protection is provided if needed.
